WIGMORE John; London, ENG; 1690-1740 2000, Febr 28 Hello Great Britain, We, Ria and Paul Stuifzand -Wigmore from Katwijk Holland, are looking for a connection to ancestors of my wife in Great Britain. In 1739 Aug 12, arrives in Rotterdam, John Wigmore, 42 Years ,born from London, and his wife Ann Devis, 46 years, born from Weschester (we suppose Winchester) with a child William 41/2 years. From notarial papers we know John is a boatswain in 1758 on the sloop "The John and Mary" with the captain Thomas Wigmore. The same Thomas is captain of the sloop "Friends Goodwill" in 1747. Presumably the both are relatives. We would like to contact anyone knowing something of these Wigmores or anyone who could suggest how to do further research because making a start is difficult for us from Holland.
