I have been unable to trace this family in Devon. I have a Mary Somerville (married name) who was living in Bath, Somerset in the 1881 census and I often wonder whether this could be my Mary Read. Mean to look up her death, if possible, to see what that reveals. Just a long shot but might be worth knowing. I will keep your details in case I stumble across something - I wish!
