You may have noticed recent problems posting to the SURNAMES-*@rootsweb.com mailing lists and the linked soc.genealogy.surnames.* newsgroups. The SURNAMES@rootsweb.com address that we normally advertise is temporarily out of service. Messages sent to this address seem to be lost without any notice to the sender. This may also be true of the other SURNAMES-* list addresses. You can still post by sending your queries to soc-genealogy-surnames-global@rootsweb.com which is another address for the automoderator. Also be sure not to include any attachments to your posts. Queries with html attachments are also being lost with no notice to the sender.
