GIBLETT; Frome, SOM,ENG; c.1750- Richard GIBLETT (b. c1751, Frome SOM,ENG) married Sarah SHEPPARD (of Frome) in 1783. Richard, a tanner & currier, died in 1829, & his wife Sarah in 1851. Known children of Richard & Sarah GIBLETT: * Ann (d. 1787) * John (woollen cloth manufacturer of Frome; issue: Henrietta & Mary); could be the John GIBLETT who married Henrietta FUSSELL? * Samuel * Thomas (mar. Isabella HOOPER; issue: Richard, Ann, Sarah, John, Jane, Harriet) * Mary (mar. James WEBSTER, a dyer, & in 1851 emigrated to NSW, AUS) * Sarah (1803-1881, mar. George WEBSTER) * Elizabeth (did not marry) There is thought to be a connection between Richard GIBLETT of Frome & a John GIBLETT who married Sarah WHITFIELD at St. Marylebone in London in 1793. Seeking contact with anyone connected to these families, or anyone able to offer suggestions for further research using local records in Somerset record repositories or elsewhere.
