READ Cozens; BKM,ENG; c. 1700-1783 READ Cozens; BKM, ENG; c1700-1783 Cozens READ is my 6 x great grandfather and lived in Nether Winchendon, Buckinghamshire with his wife Elizabeth SHIRLEY of Brill, BKM/OXF. They had eighteen children and while I have managed to trace most of the children's lines, have drawn a blank as to where Cozens READ was from. He and Elizabeth married in 1734 in Aylesbury, BKM and for the rest of their days they stayed in Nether Winchendon, where he was an Overseer of the Poor and Churchwarden. I have a copy of his Will but that gives no clue to his origins, and I have also searched many of Buckinghamshire's parish registers but to no avail. If anyone else is researching READs I would be pleased to hear from you and would also appreciate any ideas of the best way to search for Cozens' origins please.
