FINCH; Stepney, MDX,ENG; 1800-1850 I am trying to trace the birth of James Finch, circa 1816 apparently, in Stepney (acc to 1851 and 1861 Census), East London (then Middlesex). However I have not been able to find him. James was ran a Confectionery business in the Mile End Road, was married to Jane (marriage not found either c. 1836) and had about 9 children. It is possible that his birth name was not FINCH I suppose but again no evidence. We understand that several of the children moved to Canterbury area in mid 1900s.
