CLAY; Duffield,DBY,ENG; 1830-1900 My great great grandfather James Barton CLAY moved from Wirksworth to Duffield sometime after 1830. He and three of his children are listed on the 1851 census, living at three different addresses. I have reason to believe that at least three generations of the family used the name Barton as a middle name for the sons (it was JBC's mother's maiden name) and I would be interested in hearing from anyone with a "Barton CLAY" amongst their ancestors.
