DIXON; Bladon, OXF,ENG; 1900- Help please. I am researching my mothers family. Her mother was BERTHA ETHEL DIXON , one of TWELVE CHILDREN of GEORGE DIXON and ELIZABETH (nee FRANKLIN) of BLADON, OXFORDSHIRE Family links were broken when Bertha left to come to Lancashire around 1898 and she only returned for her mother's funeral in 1925. My mother was then 6 and remembers this. She did not return for her fathers funeral in 1934. I think she did correspond with her sisters initially, but not for long. Because of this - I have very little knowledge of her family except what I can glean from Parish Registers. For the DIXON 'Girls' i have been able to find their marriages at Bladon and now have married surnames. But what happened to the 'Boys'? I cannot find any record of their offspring being baptised at Bladon or surrounds.
