Subject: HOLMAN; CO,USA; 1880-1999 I would like to contact the descendants of WILLIAM and BESSIE HOLMAN who emigrated to Salida and Chaffe County area of Colorado in 1885. Having initially arrived in california. WILLIAM was a boilermaker who worked in Dever, Durango and Salida. William (died 1911) and Bessie (died 1923), were both buried in Fairview Cementary, Salida. Their children were FRANK, WILLIAM HENRY(HARRY) and AMY. FRANK had a son called FRANK and other children. We believe AMY married a GEORGE ROBINSON ; they had 5 children; HOLMAN, FRANK, ROGER, HENRY & ELSIE. HOLMAN ROBINSON , who married Lola Smith, died in 1963, their children were HOLLY, BRADLEY and GEORGE - all born in Colorado,Utah and Montana respectively. I think that Lola was born in Indian and had a sister Leonora who married NOEL WALKER, they had two children, according to 1920 census, ROBERT and RICHARD. HARRY was , in 1911, Manager of the Pioneer Boiler Works in Grand Junction. We think he married Hattie and possibly had a child Fanny Further information suggests that they lived at 209 dodge Street, Salida for 16 years. They may have had another son ?Lurton? Holman who was a game warden for many years in the area - I increasingly think that this link is unlikely. I would dearly like to get in touch with any decendants. Cheers, -- Peter G Byford <pgb@bcs.org.uk>

MAWHINNEY, Radcliffe; IRL; 1853-1929 I am looking for Radcliffe Mawhinney, born about 1853, somewhere in Northern Ireland. I have mortar dust imbedded in my forehead from this dumb brick wall. I have been looking for him for 10 years. I know that his father was Robert and Robert was a farmer that died about 1893. So far, the death certificates that I have found don't seem to match up. Radcliffe left Ireland for England. He married Hannah Eliza BRASSINGTON in 1880 in Bolton, Lancashire. They had 11 or so kids, moved to Montreal, Quebec where Hannah died in 1925 and Radcliffe in 1929. All seven of their sons served in WWI for Canada; two of them died there, John and Radcliffe. I would appreciate ANYTHING that anyone can give about this. Please visit my Mawhinney page at http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~imrie/mawhinney.html to see what I have on them so far. Thank you. BOMMER, Peter; Bolton,LAN,ENG; 1852-1899 I am looking for the parents of Peter Bommer. He also spelled his name BOWMER on occasion. I sent for a birth certificate with the particulars that I knew and the closest they could come up with was Peter, born 1852 (correct year), in Prescot (correct place) to Thomas BOMAN and Sarah TURNER from Farnworth. I knew the father's name was Thomas and the he was a tool maker. The cert. states that he is a spindle & fly maker which is pretty close. I have as yet been unable to find Thomas and Sarah on the 1851 census for Prescot (the cert says Cookstoolnook for an address). Peter married Mary Jane THOMPSON of Bolton, LAN in 1871 and I believe he died about 1899 in Bolton. One of his daughters was born in Westhoughten and another in Farnworth. The rest of the children were born in Bolton. His occupation was general laborer or carter. Any help or suggestions are welcome. LEE Edward / MOORE Judith; NC,USA; c. 1791 Looking for any information on Edward LEE who married Judith MOORE and had estate papers dated 31 May 1791 in Burke County, North Carolina. Apparently my connection is through Edward's (and Judith's?) daughter (Nancy?) who married William "Buck" COKER. His father Charles later remarried to Judith. I know almost zilch about this family, so all info is most appreciated. Especially any confirmation or documentation pointers for the above. :) Thanks! Shari Shari <shari@viptx.net>
NAVE; TN,USA>MO,USA>AR,USA; 1819-1857 Looking for the parents of Elizabeth NAVE who married Allen TRIMBLE in 1835, probably in Arkansas or Missouri. Elizabeth was born c1819 in Tennessee. Her siblings included Abraham (Abe), Jacob (Jake), John, William, Isaac, Catherine (Katie), and Redissa (Dicy). They may have moved to the White River area of Arkansas and Missouri as early as c1823. Turnbo has them arriving in Taney Co MO c1832 which seems more likely. Turnbo also has their father dying well before this time and their mother remarrying to "a man named DENISON". There is also a theory that their father was John NAVE b. 1785 in Cocke Co TN and their mother was a Mary M. who married Lewis C. DENNISON. Thanks! Shari Shari <shari@viptx.net>
THOMAS Wilburn; TX,USA>OK,USA; b. c. 1867 Looking for any information on Wilburn THOMAS who was probably born c1867 if I'm following the right trail, or it could have been well before that. He married by 1892 to Lula WILLIAMS, probably in Robertson Co. TX where they lived. Children were Ida Pierce and Joe. Lula (who was prob. either a Louisa or a Laura) died soon after Joe's birth, then Joe died. Wilburn then left for Oklahoma to be with his family, including a younger brother ("Elzy") who was in trouble with the law. He left his daughter Ida behind and never saw her again. Wilburn married in OK to a woman who was a schoolteacher on a reservation. Their children were Della, who married a CUMMINGS, and Wilburn Jr., who was probably born c1903. Both the children lived in Ardmore in the 1960s if not before. Wilburn Sr. probably died in the 1920s or 1930s. Wilburn had a sister Betty who was raped and bit off the attacker's thumb. The man later went back and burned the house down with Betty in it. Wilburn and his father caught and killed the man by dragging him behind horses and other unspeakable things. This may have been covered in the Williamson County News. There may also have been a sister named Laura who married a CHOATE. I believe I have found a likely family for Wilburn. His parents were very possibly Josiah THOMAS and Manerva. Other siblings may have been Minnie, Josaphine, and Martha Ann. In addition to Robertson Co, this family was enumerated in Smith Co (1880) and Fannin Co (1870). I have more information on descendants at http://www.hypertree.com/thomas/ Thanks! Shari Shari <shari@viptx.net>
SANDERS Joseph; GA,USA; d. c. 1846 Looking for any information on Joseph SANDERS of Georgia. He may have been from the Marion County area, as this is where his daughter Mary Emeline married in 1850. It is said that Joseph died when Mary and her sister (name unknown) were in their preteens. (So I'm guessing between 1846-49) Joseph's wife was named Sarah, and she remarried to a man named HENDRICKS. Thanks! Shari Shari <shari@viptx.net>
CASHWELL Mary; NC,USA; m. 1770 Looking for information on the parents and siblings of Mary CASHWELL who married John ALDERMAN in 1770, probably in or near Duplin County, North Carolina. It is said that Mary was from Duplin Co. She died after October of 1822. Children were: Mary, Christian, James, Elizabeth, John, and Keziah. My line is through son John. For more info on the Alderman side of things, please see http://www.hypertree.com/alderman/ Thanks! Shari Shari <shari@viptx.net>
POWELL Rachel; VA,USA?>NC,USA; m. 1769 Looking for information on parents and siblings of Rachel POWELL who married William BLAND probably around 1769. Their (known) children were William and James. The family was of Duplin County, North Carolina. Husband William was probably from Virginia, but I don't know where they met and married. My line is through James. For more info on the Bland side of things please see http://www.hypertree.com/bland/ Thanks! Shari Shari <shari@viptx.net>
CHAMBERS Jemima; NC,USA; c. 1757 Looking for information on siblings and parents of Jemima CHAMBERS who married Isaac NEWTON of Duplin County, North Carolina. She may have been born c1757. Children were: Esther, Nancy Ann, Sarah, Phoebe, Elizabeth, Mary, Dorcas, Miriam, Jemima, Enoch, and Isaac. My line is through both Esther and Nancy Ann. More on them can be found at http://www.hypertree.com/newton/ Thanks! Shari Shari <shari@viptx.net>
MASSEY David; SC,USA>GA,USA>AL,USA>MS,USA; c. 1805-1880 Looking for information on David MASSEY who was born in South Carolina c1805. He married first to Nancy. I don't know when or where, but c1831 they had a son, James L., in Georgia. Followed by Jacob T. c1832 in Georgia, and Susan c1837 in Alabama. By the 1850 census they were in Leake County, Mississippi. I have not been able to find a connection between them and the Elias Massey family of Leake Co. (yet). David apparently remarried to Elizabeth by 1860 and had another child, Nancy (c1857). On 29 December 1867 in Leake Co. he married Susan WELLS, widow of John William FISHER. By 1880 she was alone with her children and stepchildren in Texas, so I assume David had died, although I have heard stories that she may have gone without him. My line is through son Jacob. More info can be found at http://www.hypertree.com/massey/ Thanks! Shari Shari <shari@viptx.net>
STARK Mary E.; LA,USA; d. 1895 Looking for any clues on Mary E. STARK or STARKS who married Anderson Franklin ("Frank") Rials on 3 June 1888 in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. Mary died on 12 October 1895, probably in Rapides Parish. I have a picture of her with her family, who may have been from Mississippi: http://www.hypertree.com/images/gallery/starks.jpg Mary is the one seated on the right with the bouquet. Children were: Ada Mae, Daniel Arthur, and Coleman Franklin Thanks! Shari Shari <shari@viptx.net>
