    2. Eddie Hall
    3. PAYNE; ENG; 1850-1950 I am researching all the names in the list below. They are all linked mainly by family documents I have in my own possession dating back to about the 1870s. But it is not always clear what some of the relationships are. Clearly, some of the names are very common in their own countries, so what I am looking for are some positive means of identifying the links between them. If anyone can help, I shall be most grateful. As far as I can tell, there are three separate and independent links between England and Germany. 3. THATCHER, Helen; Birmingham, ENG; -1941 I have a photograph of a very distinguished looking lady about 50 years old. On the front it has " Yours sincerely Helen". On the back someone has written " Killed in Air Raid 1941 Birmingham, England". The picture was with all the THATCHER pictures, so I am presuming she is a THATCHER. How might I go about locating the facts of this ladies death? If you should have any information on this lady, I would like to exchange notes. Thank you. 1. ROSENBAUM / ROSENBALM; VA,USA; 1810-1835
    2. Janice Smith
    3. ROSENBAUM / ROSENBALM; VA,USA; 1810-1835 Hello, I am looking for information regarding the time when this name was changed. I think I have tracked it to Washington County, Va. in the early 1800's. Mary (Polly) Fox married Valentine Rosenbaum in 1827. All of their progeny were named Rosenbalm. Rachel Fox married John Rosenbaum in 1819 - all of their children were given the Rosenbalm surname. Can anyone tell me if these were two sisters marrying brothers? Also, what might have been going on in the County culture at the time to cause the name change? Thanks for your time. Janice (Rosenbalm) Smith "Janice Smith" <bce@earthling.net>

    1. HOLMAN / ROBINSON / WALKER; CO,USA; 1880-
    2. Peter Byford
    3. HOLMAN / ROBINSON / WALKER; CO,USA; 1880- Subject: HOLMAN/ROBINSON/WALKER; CO,USA; 1880- I would like to contact the descendants of WILLIAM and BESSIE HOLMAN who emigrated to Salida and Chaffe County area of Colorado in 1885. Having initially arrived in california. WILLIAM was a boilermaker who worked in Dever, Durango and Salida. William (died 1911) and Bessie (died 1923), were both buried in Fairview Cementary, Salida. Their children were FRANK, WILLIAM HENRY(HARRY) and AMY. FRANK had a son called FRANK and other children. We believe AMY married a GEORGE ROBINSON ; they had 5 children; HOLMAN, FRANK, ROGER, HENRY & ELSIE. HOLMAN ROBINSON , who married Lola Smith, died in 1963, their children were HOLLY, BRADLEY and GEORGE - all born in Colorado,Utah and Montana respectively. I think that Lola was born in Indian and had a sister Leonora who married NOEL WALKER, they had two children, according to 1920 census, ROBERT and RICHARD. HARRY was , in 1911, Manager of the Pioneer Boiler Works in Grand Junction. We think he married Hattie and possibly had a child Fanny Further information suggests that they lived at 209 dodge Street, Salida for 16 years. They may have had another son ?Lurton? Holman who was a game warden for many years in the area - I increasingly think that this link is unlikely. I would dearly like to get in touch with any decendants. Cheers, -- Peter G Byford <pgb@bcs.org.uk>

    2. Jim Gallagher
    3. GALLAGHER; Gorteen, Rossinver, SLI,IRL; 1880-1910 The format police have kicked this message out twice this morning. I'm hoping to get it posted before I become an ancestor. I hope this is worth all of this trouble. This is my first time using a news group. I have been trying to track down my great grandfather for many years. We have caught a break recently and want to know if anyone has any connections for me. Francis or Frank GALLAGHER was married to Bridget HARKIN. They had at least two boys, Denis or Dennis J. on Feb. 3, 1867 and Francis on April 12, 1869. Both boys' birth records have been located and were born in the area noted in the subject. Later Francis Sr. was married to Margaret McKENNA. They had John Lawrence (my grandfather) c. 1888 and Martin c. 1891. Francis Sr. is listed as a widower in the 1901 Census in that townland. Francis Sr. was alive in 1908 when John listed him as his relative on a ship manifest. There are other children and we don't know who their mothers are. They are Mary, Patrick and Bridget. We know that Dennis J. John Lawrence and Mary all came to the US. In a 1938 obit for Dennis Patrick is listed as living in Scotland and Bridget in Ireland. We have recently located them geographically in the above townland. There are two townlands named Gorteen/Gurteen in Sligo. This one is in the north along the Ballintrilick River. It is the northern most townland in Rossinver Parish. The north side of the river is Ahamlish Parish and they are about two miles south of Cliffoney. Please E-mail me with any information. Unsubstantiated information I have is that George LUCKIE and his wife Margaret LUCKIE (Nee PATERSON) arrived in Botany Bay, Sydney, Australia with their family on either 24th or 28th Jan 1842 on the ship, the "Margaret". I believe that they emigrated from Angus or Dundee, Scotland. I would also appreciate any personal information such as details of the family that accompanied them on their journey. Thanking you in advance. Mark Luckie. Researching: (All in Australia Only); Luckie, Greenhalgh, Marchant, Hatton, Morrison, MacKellar (McKellar). mluckie@ozemail.com.au (Kukla Micer)
