CLARK / CLARKE,John Alanson; ON,CAN; c.1853 If you have further information on anyone noted below, please contact bummerplumber@earthlink.net and see our web site at http://home.earthlink.net/~bummerplumber/index.html We are descended from John Clarke, of Great Munden, Hertfordshire, England. He settled in America at Newtown in 1632. In 1636, the family moved to Hartford, Connecticut. This John Clarke (b.1601/3-d.1674) is the TENTH great-grandfather of me, Robert E. Clark of New Hope, Minnesota! He was married to Mary Coley (b.c.1602-d.1664). John Clarke was one of the founders of Hartford, Connecticut, and his name can be found there on a monument near the downtown area. We are especially looking for information on my second great-grandfather, James Alanson Clark (b.1823 New York - d.c.1893 Ontario, Canada, or New York). His parents were Charles William Clark and Anna Merwin. James Alanson Clark's first wife was Isabel Clough, and they came to Canada in 1853, the year my great-grandfather Frederick Clark (d.1905) was born. Frederick had three brothers, Charles John Clark, James Merwin Clark, and John Winslow (or Wilson) Clark. We have no other information on these three brothers. Frederick Clark is buried in the Pioneers and Old Soldiers Cemetary in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
RAVEN John; GLS,ENG; 1770-1825 I am trying to find more on John RAVEN. He died in Lechlade in 1825 aged 55 according to the parish records. I have found the baptisms of 4 children in Lechlade between 1818 and 1824. I have also found the marriage of an older child in Lechlade but no corresponding baptism. John was a churchwarden in 1820. These children were all by his wife named Sarah. Given their age differences I suspect she may have been his second wife. Would love to know of any likely candidates for this guy.
