    3. CHAPPUT / MARTELL; QC,CAN; 1816- Can anyone give me the following, please? * Parents and birth date and place of Joseph CHAPPUT. From the family Bible I have, b. 6 Aug. 1816, m. 1 Aug. 1853 (or 1863), d. 26 Nov. 1885. Not shown is where any of this occurred. All it says for the first two events is "Canada" and the place of death is not listed at all. As for the marriage date, I am inclined to believe the earlier date is correct as by the later date they had produced five of their six children! I would also very much like to find out where they were married. * Parents and birth date and place of Josephine MARTELL, wife of Joseph. >From the family Bible I got: b. 8 Feb. 1829, m. 1 Aug. 1853 (1863). Once again, all that is listed for location is "Canada". I would also like to find out when and where she died. Thanks, Barbara lachance@ccis.com

    3. FAIR, Margaret.; IRL>NY,USA>(Mount Vernon post office) East Chester Township, Westchester County, NY,USA; 1790-1870 FAIR, Margaret married a man with the surname Young in Ireland. The location is unknown this event probably took place about 1817 or before. According to the 1870 census for East Chester Township (part) of Westchester County. Three children are part or all of her family all born in Ireland. Due to the similar names and our family naming traditions of giving the middle name to honor the maternal grandmother and the first name to honor the paternal grandfather. Similar family names are found in the children of Sarah Young Barr with whom Margaret Fair Young is living at the age of 80, James Young and Margaret Young Smith who named her sixth child Samuel Fair Smith aged 11 and the seventh child Sarah Smith aged 9. Several generations of naming indicates this is in our tradition. I am hoping to find someone who recognizes the names Barr, Smith, Fair and Young in Ireland or this specific family. Interlibrary loan is in the process of sending the NARA census films for 1860 and 1850. If anyone has an index or soundex for these names I would appreciate knowing what I can before they arrive.
