    3. BEACH James Arthur Penfold; ENG; c. 1890 James Arthur Penfold Beach appeared in London in about 1890 following an argument with his family. They are reputed to have been Fruit growers/Orchard owners/Jam manufacturers emanating from somewhere in the west country. (from a Londoners point of view). We have been told of a company now defunct called Beaches Jams but have been unable to fix a location. Can anyone help from this info. Many thanks John. John Trott <John@pctrott.freeserve.co.uk>

    3. Re: SIMPSON William; UIE,IRL > ON,CAN; c. 1845 HI: I'm researching my husbands Gordier surname and his grandmother was Sarah Jane Simpson. We been told she was born in Belfast Ireland about 1854-55. She came to Canada via NY we think. She married his grandfather Sidney Martin Gordier in 1873 in Iroquois,Ontario Canada, marriage record list her age at that time 19. It has Christopher and Irma Simpson as listed for parents. But have not been able to locate a record of any kind for a Christopher and Irma Simpson. Have run into many William Simpsons in the same area as they were living at time of their marriage, of Matilda Twp.Dundas Co.Ontario. We have been wondering if William could have been a brother of hers. If you know of any of this please e-mail us, we are trying to find her birth record. She died when she was only 38 yrs old and my husbands father was only 2 yrs old. This Sarah and Sidney had five children. Ida May, MaryJane(Minnie),Alton, Edmond, and Roy Martin Gordier, Roy being my hubbies father. Thanks for any help. e-mail WJDJG@aol.com Bill and Dot Gordier

    3. ROWAN / KELLY; ENG>IRL>USA; 1850-1950 I am seeking any information on RICHARD ROWAN - Approx. date of birth 1870-1875. Wife's name unknown. It seems my family has been confused for many years on the family's origin. When I began my research I was told that RICHARD (my great grandfather) came to the US from UK, but was born in Ireland, then I was told he came directly from Ireland, and now there is some talk about Wales. The information I have is very limited at this point. Names of children: RICHARD, JAMES, MARTIN, DAVID, ELIZABETH and MICHAEL LEO Michael Leo was my grandfather - he was born in 1901- (again, I have conflicting information - SSDI shows his DOB as Sept 1st and his work records show his DOB as Sept 30) His children always believed he was born in NYC - but vital records has no record of his birth). I am certain of a few details - His mother threw him out of the house at around age 17 and he never visited with his parents again. But, where that house was is now a mystery. He was a NYC Police officer from 1928 to 1946, He died in 1972. His wife (my grandmother ) was LORETTA MARIE KELLY. She was born July 8, 1903 in Brooklyn, NY. He parents names were WILLIAM J KELLY and MARY A COUGHLIN. They were married around 1923. More information can be found on my webpage at: www.geocities.com/heartland/lakes/2256/index.html Any help would be more than appreciated. Susan Rowan srowan@optonline.net

    3. JOHN Reid; ANT,NIR / DOW,NIR; c.1761-1822 Hello Folks I am searching for any info or help regarding my GRGR Grandfather, Robert Reid. Robert left Ireland for Canada in 1822, but left behind a brother--Henry Reid. I believe that Henry has descendents in or around County Down to this day.Robert was married to Maria Stewart in Belfast on June 12, 1802. They lived in Ballygallum, Bright Parish, County Down. He also owned a linen mill in White Abbey, County Antrim with Maria's brother Thomas and one other. Robert's father was John Reid (d. 1811) in Ballygallum, and his father was John Reid married to Margaret Baillie. These folks may have lived in County Antrim. Our family descends from the Red (Reid)-Robertsons of Straloch, Scotland. I would like to contact anyone who knows that they are from the same family of the Clan Donnachaidh. If you are or know of someone please give them my E-ddress and reply directly to me. Thankx very much Rick I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous Reid http://www.compusmart.ab.ca/reidstreet "River Reid Group" <reidstreet@compusmart.ab.ca>
