DRYDEN William Wesley; Moncton,NB,CAN; 1866-1935 Hi my name is Linda Dryden I'm doing research on my family Dryden you see my great grand father William Wesley Dryden was deaf and mute at a young age so the family had no information on him they don't even have the write date he was born. on his tomb stone it says he was born in 1866 but his marriage registration says he was 38 in 1908 when he married the 2nd time to Martha Dickie who was 26 in 1908. and her date of birth on the tomb stone says she was born in 1984 well I completed her side and she actually was born in 1881. She too was deaf and mute William found her in a barn hidden and befriended her and taught her sign language. Now on William there was a sister name Lillian so the children say. she might of been his first wife we don't know in those days a friend would be related a aunt or uncle. We know that William was married in Saint John NB and he was born in Moncton NB. and later settled in Restigauch NB birth certificates prove that some of there children were born in Campbelton NB in early 1920's they and Lillian and her husband Benjamin Asprey all moved to Montreal. William died in 1936 in Montreal and so did his wife Martha in 1962 all children are decease most did not married all except 1 married,my grandmother one of the children had a child my father, but never married the father. My father was raise by Martha and William as there own child so he grew up with his aunts and uncles thinking that they were all his brother and sisters.,not till after he married did he find out that his sister was really his mother. confused well so were we so there was allot of skeletons in the family would like to find out beyond William Wesley Dryden his parents and were they came from and if he had brothers and sisters, and who was the first wife and why they divorced. we may never find the answer. So thetas my story do we fit in with your descendants or can you tell me about you Dryden. Thank you for taking the time to read and answer. >Linda Dryden >jbld@frontiernet.net
