HEIM Charles G.; DEU>NY,USA; 1869 I am so excited! I just learned where in Germany my great grandfather lived thanks to the National Archivess Ship Passenger Arrival Records. CHARLES G. HEIM, b. about 1842 in Germany, lived in Cannstatt, was a farmer, left from the port of Bremen, and arrived in New York on the ship America on 16 April 1869. I do not know who his parents were. It appears that he came to US by himself. I have located Bad Cannstatt which seems to be part of Stuttgart now. Does anyone know of this man? What would you suggest I do next? JARVIS Julius; CAN>NY,USA>MI,USA>QC,CAN; 1844-1908 I am seeking information on my great grandmothers brother Julius Jarvis. I know he was born in Canada (exact location unknown) on October 13, 1844. He served in the New York Infantry during the Civil War and moved to Saginaw, Michigan after the war. About 1900 he moved to Montreal where he remained until his death on February 11, 1908. This is according to his obituary in the Saginaw Evening New. At the time of his death he had a wife and daughter in Montreal. His parents were Steven Jarvis and Lucy Jaques he was one of eleven children. My great grandmother being Catherine (Kittie) Jarvis/Lambert/Sudgen.
