Re: BOYLE, Philemon; DON,IRL>PA,USA; 1768-1841 Hi Patricia First time I have seen someone look for a Boyle!! Maybe not a cousin. My grandmother was Sarah Ann Boyle and was born in 1864 in Castruse or Killea in Co Donegal. Her father was Daniel Boyle born c1835 in same area. Boyle was a very common name in Donegal. Do you know the name of the Townland your ancestor was born in? e.g. Castruse. I have found it very difficult to get much more info on my Boyle family but I keep trying. My Grandmother married a James Cannon see web site www.otsearch.com/canfhs Good luck in the search John Lynch Patricia Del Bianco <p.delbianco@worldnet.att.net> wrote in message news:7f7vot$5f2$1@bl-1.rootsweb.com... > BOYLE, Philemon; DON,IRL>PA,USA; 1768-1841 > > -----Original Message----- > From: Patricia Del Bianco <p.delbianco@worldnet.att.net> > To: SURNAMES-IRELAND-M@rootsweb.com <SURNAMES-IRELAND-M@rootsweb.com> > Date: Friday, April 16, 1999 12:57 PM > Subject: Fw: BOYLE, Philemon; DON, IRE>PA, USA; 1768 - 1841 > > > > > >-----Original Message----- > >From: Patricia Del Bianco <p.delbianco@worldnet.att.net> > >To: SURNAMES-IRELAND-M@rootsweb.com <SURNAMES-IRELAND-M@rootsweb.com> > >Date: Friday, April 16, 1999 12:49 PM > >Subject: Fw: BOYLE, Philemon; IRELAND>USA; 1768-1841 > > > > > >> > >>-----Original Message----- > >>From: Patricia Del Bianco <p.delbianco@worldnet.att.net> > >>To: SURNAMES-IRELAND-M@rootsweb.com <SURNAMES-IRELAND-M@rootsweb.com> > >>Date: Friday, April 16, 1999 12:36 PM > >>Subject: Fw: BOYLE, Philemon; IRE>USA; 1768-1841 > >> > >> > >>> > >>>-----Original Message----- > >>>From: Patricia Del Bianco <p.delbianco@worldnet.att.net> > >>>To: SURNAMES-IRELAND-M@rootsweb.com <SURNAMES-IRELAND-M@rootsweb.com> > >>>Date: Thursday, April 15, 1999 10:25 AM > >>>Subject: Re: BOYLE, Philemon; DONEGAL>PA, USA; 1790- > >>> > >>> > >>>> > >>>>-----Original Message----- > >>>>From: Patricia Del Bianco <p.delbianco@worldnet.att.net> > >>>>To: SURNAMES-IRELAND-M@rootsweb.com <SURNAMES-IRELAND-M@rootsweb.com> > >>>> > >>>> > >>>>>Looking for the family of Philemon Boyle who left Donegal sometime in > >>>the1790's. Re: SCHLEMP / SCHLIMP, Frederick; DEU; 1730 SCHLEMP;DEU;1730 I'm looking for information about the German family of Frederick Schlemp, born around 1730 and relocated through Pennsylvania to Virginia about 1754. In the colonies, his name was changed to Slimp (Slemp). My main clue to his European roots is that he married a Mary Metz (like the Alsacian city now in France) in Virginia. One of his his sons (Jakob/Jacob) opened a blacksmith shop in the 1790s in the mountains of east Tennessee. If you know of any Schlemps or Schlimps in the Alsace-Lorraine area or in Germany proper, any information is appreciated. An unlikely clue is that once my Irish Great Grandmother married Great Grandfather Slimp, they were referred to as "black Irish" a term generally meaning part-Irish and part-German from the Black Forest (Schwarzwald) region. Once the Schlemps reached America, I have a pretty good geneology from that point to today, including the Slimps of Tennessee and Texas and the Slemps of Tennessee, Virginia, and beyond. BOHLEIN Johannes / KUHNLEIN Kunigunde; BAY,DEU > MD,USA; 1855-1858 BÖHLEIN Johannes / KÜHNLEIN Kunigunde; BAY,DEU > MD,USA; 1855-1858 I had to take the umlauts out of the subject to get this to go, but finally here is my story.. After piecing together information from baptismal records, Johannes and Kunigunde appear to be my Great-Great Grandparents. I gathered my information from the records at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Baltimore. The church opened to serve German immigrants in 1858 and their records are available at the Maryland State Archives in Annapolis. What is interesting is that Johannes was one of five Böhnleins from Weigendorf, Bayern. I took a shot at the 1855 date, the first Böhnlein was baptized at Holy Cross in January 1859. Here the other Böhnlein's and their wives. I have a some of the wives cities of origin. Vitus Böhnlein - Kunigunde Eichorn, Brutengiessbach, Bayern Pancratius Böhnlein - Barbara Lochner, Baunoch, Bayern Johannes Böhnelin - Kunigunde Haffner Johannes Böhnlein - Kunigunde Kühnlein, Sinhut (sp?), Bayern Joseph Böhnlein - Barbara Loch I have much information regarding all the kids born to these five. I believe they were all related because they were naming their kids after one another. I am trying to find when they immigrated from Germany, and any information that would accompany those records. Also anyone interested in these name please feel free to contact me. Here in the Baltimore area, the name was changed from Böhnlein to Bahnlein. I know that in the US there are those who changed to Bohnlein or Boehnlein. I cannot trace the 20 or so children born to these five. Thanks in advance for any and all help!
