WORMWOOD; WLS; 1650-1850 Hello list members, I am looking for information on any WORMWOODS from Wales or England. My gggrandmother's death certificate says the her father Ebenezer WORMWOOD was from Wales. I assumed that what she meant was Wells, Maine, USA because WORMWOODS settled there but I have since found out that there were WORMWOODS who did emmigrate from Wales to Prince Edward Island. Any information about this surname from England or Wales would be most helpful. Thank you in advance. Carol Timmins Pembroke, New Hampshire, USA David Timmins <middle-earth@worldnet.att.net>

I believe that it is of the Lutheran denomination. I visited this church in the 1960's and sat in the pew of my German ancestors, the Schellhammer pew. If anyone has ever heard of or attended this church, could you please let me know. There was also a GastHaus that had been the home where my great-grandfather was born at. Is there any place where I can find out about the individual history of GastHauses in the area. Thanks, Gayle Little --part1_601c8e0.2454d96b_boundary--

BROWN William; Wrabness, ESS,ENG; 1840-1903 Hello, This is a bit of a long shot but I am trying to trace the history of a William Brown Born C.1840 died 1903 in Tendring Union Work house from Cancer of the rectum. (Ouch) He is believed to have been a Navie on the railway from Manning tree, Essex and in 1882-1884 took up residence in Wrabness, Essex. Later married an Emily Porter on 3rd August 1890 in Wrabness. In the 1891 census, the only one we defiantly know was him, his birth place was stated as unknown. (N.K.) Together Emily and William had the total of 5 children + the possibly of having three more before they married. When he died, Emily did not know any of his family to tell them of his death, so we are a bit stuck. There is a bit of confusion of where he was born, someone say's Scotland, someone else said Liverpool and some one else said Suffock/Essex. We have checked the Railway records and there is no records of Navies, also his death record at the work house say's birth place unknown. Does anyone have any information that may help me trace this person. If anyone has any William Browns they cant trace, please let me know as I am having to just grasp at straws at the moment. Many, many thanks. Paul. "Paul Atkins" <paul@lpbh.freeserve.co.uk>

PROW Hilda; Portsmouth UK; 1890-1987 My grandmother Hilda Prow, was descended from the Hugenots. I and my five uncles and aunts (her six children - Nellie, Margaret, Jack, Leslie (now in Australia) and Kathleen (my mother) are trying to trace her ancestry. The original name would have been PRIEUX. It's not that common a name, so I'm hoping to hear from any other Prow's who may have more information than we have. In hopeful anticipation "Sue" <cooksl@dial.pipex.com>
