CLARK; Onondaga Co,NY,USA>Huron Co,OH,USA>Wells Co,IN,USA; 1835-1860 CLARK;Onondaga Co,NY,USA>Huron Co,OH,USA>Wells Cc,IN,USA;1835-1860 Looking for info on the parents of John S. CLARK born abt 1835 in Onondaga County, New York. On 12 Jun 1859 in Wells County, Indiana, John married Harriett WISNER born 7 Jan 1839 maybe in Wayne County, Ohio. John died 4 Nov 1863 in Chattanooga, Tennessee during service in the Civil War. He was a member of Company B, 101st Indiana Volunteers. In John's pension files, there is a letter certifying that a Sarah CLARK and a Sarah A. SUTTON, both of Huron County, Ohio, were both present at the birth of John and Harriett's only child, Maranda Ellen CLARK born 16 May 1860, somewhere in Ohio. This letter is dated 6 Apr 1867 and also states that Sarah CLARK and Sarah A. SUTTON were 73 and 42 years old respectively on this date. This would make Sarah CLARK's birth date around the year 1794. I hope this info is helpful. Any info or leads would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Steve Niblick "Steve Niblick" <plan_director@wico.net>
WIEHE; NY,USA; 1840 I am interested in the English spelling of the name Wiehe. I am researching a Doris Sophia Christina WIEHE and have been told that in English the spelling would be Wiebe. Is this so? She married a Edward Carl Helmuth SCHRADER in Germany between 1850 to 1860. They than moved to the US. Does anyone know at what age in the same time period, a Germany man is expected to serve in their military? Any news about that subject would be much appreciated. L wygant wylas@uninets.net
