    1. STONE Martha Jane; Gananoque ON,CAN; 1845-1887
    2. STONE Martha Jane; Gananoque ON,CAN; 1845-1887 I am looking for information about my Gr. Gr. grand-mother and her family: She was Martha Jane STONE, b. May 13, 1845, d. Feb. 20, 1887 (I believe b. & d. Gananoque, ON, Canada). Her first husband was a WOOD or WOODS possibly John. 2nd husband Daley TRYON. Family lore tells me that she was related to Col. Joel STONE, b. Aug. 7, 1749, Guilford (or Litchfield), CT, USA and d. Gananoque, ON, Can. He was a prominent merchant and United Empire Loyalist who was the founder of Gananoque, ON, Cananda (c. 1790). His father was Stephen STONE and his mother was Rebecca, both of Litchfield, CT. According to LDS records Joel Stone had several sisters and two brothers: Stephen, b. Jan. 1, 1746 and Leman, b. Dec. 29, 1750, both in Litchfield Twp., Litchfield, CT. I believe that Martha Jane STONE may be related to Joel STONE through one of his brother's children or perhaps a cousin who later came to Gananoque. I believe Joel Stone's only son William Moore Stone had no children. Joel Stone did have a daughter (Mary) who married a Mac or McDonald. Her daughter, my gr. grand-mother was Mary Jane Wood(s) b. Mar. 20, 1865 & d. Dec. 13, 1942, Gananoque, ON, Can., m. 25, June 1881 to Giles (Nyle) A. Harris, b. Nov. 13, 1859, and d. June 22, 1925 in Gananoque, ON. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who might be able to help me establish the link between Martha Jane Stone and Joel Stone's family or has any other information or suggestions. I would be interested in hearing from anyone researching the following families in the Gananoque/Kingston/Brockville ON, Canada, NY or CT States, areas: STONE, HARRIS, TRYON, MCDONALD, WRIGHT, JAMESON, SHERIFF AND CARY. 2. BnLFAMILY
    3. CAUDLE Stephen; ENG; 1600-1700 My 6x great grandfather Stephen CAUDLE was born about 1685. My strongest indications are that he was born in Gloucestershire, England, son of Stephen CAUDLE. The name has been spelled many ways, I'm not sure which is correct: CAUDLE/CAWDLE/COUDELL/CAUDILL/CORDLE/CORDIAL/etc. I have also had reports that he was born in Scotland. He immigrated to the Virginia Colony about 1720-1730. His wife was Mary Elizabeth FEILD, but I'm not sure where they were married. Can anyone give me any kind of information about Stephen and/or Mary? I would especially like to have a copy of birth or christening record to see how the name was spelled. I also have listed as immigrants to the Virginia Colony who may be a part of Stephen's family, and would like information on them as well. These are the dates they arrived in Virginia Colony: Phillip CAUDELL in about 1635; George COUDELL in June 1648; Anthony CAUDELL in December 1656; and John CAUDLE was in Charles City County, Virginia Colony as early as 1659. Records list him with all the above spellings. Bud Caudle, e-mail BnLFAMILY@aol.com
