GIBNEY / CHAPMAN; CHS,ENG; c. 1930 GIBNEY, John Edward Francis CHAPMAN, Ivy May So far I've had little luck in trying to trace my grandparents, who were separated from their children c. 1945. Their names were John Edward Francis GIBNEY and Ivy May CHAPMAN. They had five children: *John *Edna (born 1932, Birkenhead) *Alice May (born 1934, New Brighton, Wallasey... my mother) *Wendy Christine and *Ivy I don't know where John Edward and Ivy May were born. Although they obviously spent some time in Cheshire, Ivy was supposed to have been from Cornwall. John Edward was also reputedly a salvage contractor before the war, Commander in the Navy during it, and an engineer at Prestwick toward the end of the war. I am looking for ANY information about them... BDM dates/places... parents' names... other family members... I am hoping that we may find young John in this search and reunite him with his sisters. I hope you can help. Cheers, Robyn Noll Phoenix, AZ robynnoll@worldnet.att.net

ROWAN / KELLY; ENG>WLS>IRL>USA; 1850-1950 I am seeking any information on RICHARD ROWAN - Approx. date of birth 1870-1875. Wife's name unknown. It seems my family has been confused for many years on the family's origin. When I began my research I was told that RICHARD (my great grandfather) came to the US from UK, but was born in Ireland, then I was told he came directly from Ireland, and now there is some talk about Wales. The information I have is very limited at this point. Names of children: RICHARD, JAMES, MARTIN, DAVID, ELIZABETH and MICHAEL LEO Michael Leo was my grandfather - he was born in 1901- (again, I have conflicting information - SSDI shows his DOB as Sept 1st and his work records show his DOB as Sept 30) His children always believed he was born in NYC - but vital records has no record of his birth). I am certain of a few details - His mother threw him out of the house at around age 17 and he never visited with his parents again. But, where that house was is now a mystery. He was a NYC Police officer from 1928 to 1946, He died in 1972. His wife (my grandmother ) was LORETTA MARIE KELLY. She was born July 8, 1903 in Brooklyn, NY. He parents names were WILLIAM J KELLY and MARY A COUGHLIN. They were married around 1923. More information can be found on my webpage at: www.geocities.com/heartland/lakes/2256/index.html Any help would be more than appreciated. Susan Rowan srowan@optonline.net
