FELTIS Margaret, Mary; CAN > MI,USA; 1879 Am not having a lot of luck finding more about my SCALES, McKECHNIE or JOHNSON (under #1, Alexander E. SCALES married Barbara Emily JOHNSON, daughter of JOHNSON and Barbara MCKECHNIE) surnames, so am trying a different route. Below is census data which has in-law relations under #2 with the surname FELTIS. Are there any FELTIS researchers with more? I do not know where in Canada the families came from, but do suspect Ontario. Thanks for ANYTHING! Bonnie Ferguson Butler skyvine@aol.com Bruce Twp, Chippewa, MI; ED 13, sheet 7. 4 of 5 residences in a row were SCALES: 1) Joseph SCALES b. PA and mother Canada (English); son Clarence b. May 1892 MI [According to SSDI, May 19, 1892, d. July 1984; residence Pickford, Chippewa, MI] Am considering Joseph, Alexander, and Charles brothers due to their parents' having the same birth places, even tho the 'brothers' did not all immigrate together. Thinking Emeline is an aunt or even grandmother.
MURDOCH / MCGEE; IRL>STI,SCT; 1785-1840 Hi, I have ancestry originating in Ireland by the name of Edward Murdoch. His wife was Rosanna McGee and they appear in Fintry in Stirlingshire about 1835. Edward, his wife and first two children were born in "Ireland" but probably came to Scotland to work in the textile factory at Fintry. Can anyone give a clue as to where I should start to look in Ireland to trace them? gordon@gjmurdoch.freeserve.co.uk

ROWLEY James Frederick / MCELROY Mary; IRL > Port Phillip, AUS; 1800-1921 Dear Friends Searching for information on James Frederick Rowley from Ireland, (and others) born c1829 (1831?) and his wife Mary McElroy (McIlroy?) born c1833. Son of Samuel Osborn Rowley, baker, and Elizabeth Dobson. Religion Catholic. Percy may have had a brother, John Rowley, possibly a butcher in Geelong, died c1959, buried with his wife who died in childbirth in 1913. Anthony and Rosannah both died 1936, buried in Geelong. My connection is the following. My father was John Gerald Frederick Rowley, son of Percy David Rowley, son of Anthony Rowley, son of James Frederick Rowley, son of Samuel Osborn Rowley. Best regards. COXON Thomas; ENG; 1783 Thomas COXON married Mary CRAWFORD (born Widdrington,NBL) on Dec.11th.1814 at Longhorsley, NBL. Looking for Thomas's birthplace and parents. Thomas died at Hetton-le-Hole, DUR in 1827, aged 44 years, making his birth date 1783. I have found only one Thomas born in that year, on July 29th, to Thomas a miner, and that was at Newcastle All Saints, NBL. Thomas had two sons born at Longhorsley - Michael & William, then moved on to Medomsley, DUR and had four more sons - John, Mark, Thomas & James, then had a son called Andrew (after Mary's father) at Tynemouth, before he moved to Hetton-le-Hole. Thomas worked as an agricultural labourer and then in the last three years of his life, as a coal-miner. Don't know if Mary married again?
