    3. TIPPER,James; Scropton,DBY,ENG; 1800 James TIPPER was my GGGG Grandfather who, I presume, was born in Scropton in Derbyshire in or around 1800. He was married to Ann ? and all of his children were born in Scropton, according to the IGI, starting with: Mary baptised on 15 Feb 1829, Elizabeth on 31 Oct 1830, William on 14 Mar 1832 Sarah on 12 Jan 1834, Caroline on 29 May 1835, Ann and Emma both on 5 Feb 1837, George on 14 Apr 1839 (my GGG Grandfather), Fanny on 25 Jul 1841 and Edwin, Thomas and James all on 13 Feb 1848. I have seen the grave of James, who died in 1876, his wife Ann, who died in 1888 and their daughter Sarah who pre-deceased them both dying in 1861. The grave is in Scropton churchyard under the East window. Any other ideas or help please. Regards, Mal Holmes in Perth, Western Australia. M Holmes <mholmes@perthpcug.org.au>

    3. TIPPER,George; Scropton,DBY,ENG; 1839 George TIPPER was my maternal GGGGrandfather who was baptised in Scropton on 14 April 1839. He married Harriet Wison in Church Broughton on 16 October 1860. I know of six of his children, 4 born in Scropton, James b 1862; William b 1864; Eliza b 1867; and George b 1869. Then comes a gap until J. Thomas is born in 1878 and Albert in 1880. I imagine that there would have been others born between 1869 and 1878 but I have not found them yet. There were a lot of Tippers in the Scropton area at about that time but whether they were all related is unknown as yet. James, the eldest, is my GGGrandfather and was married to Mary Ann Walton in 1881 Any help or ideas please. Regards Mal Holmes in Perth, Western Australia mholmes@perthpcug.org.au

    3. SMIITH, Hannah; USorON,CAN; 1938-1924 I am trying to locate info on the parents of my great-grandmother Hannah SMITH, b. ?US,(according to 1901 census), m. to William EVANS, d. 1924 in Bosanquet Twp., Lambton Co., buried in Camlachie Cem., Plympton Twp., Lambton Co. According to my mother, her siblings were Joseph married to Maggie ?, Janie whose husband was a McNabb, Olive whose husband was a Symington, and Susan. It has since been suggested to me that she may have been a sister to Sarah Coffy Smith who was married to Robert Symington, explaining mother's remembered Symington connection. (My aunt and uncle visited with Phelps Symington who was said to be a cousin. He is Sarah and Robert's son) In that case, her parents would have been Norman B. Smith and Margaret Coffy. If anyone has any additional clues to unravel the branches of Hannah's tree, I will be eternally grateful. Dorothy Dahm "Dorothy Dahm" <dndahm@execulink.com>

    3. ALBUS, Johann Peter; Neuweiler, DEU; 1784 A contact I made was kind enough to give me information from a book: "Das Kolonisationswerk Josef II in Galizien." In the list of colonists who left Frankfurth between March 21, 1784 and Sept. 17, 1784 for settlements in Galacia was a Johann Peter Albus from Nunweiler/Usingen on Aug. 10, 1784. I believe this Johann Peter Albus is actually from Neuweiler, and is the father of my 6th great grandfather, Ludwig Albus. I am looking for information on Johann Peter, as well as Ludwig Albus and Michael Albus. The information I have for Ludwig is as follows: Listed in census of Neu-Sandez in 1789 (originally from Germany, moved there) Moved to Fratautz as early as 1813. Had one son that I know of: Michael (born between 1778 and 1812?) who married Johanna Karolina Bessai (daughter of Georg Bessai and Susannah Kurtz). Any information on any of these people would be greatly appreciated! Danke, Ruthie (Albus) Houchins Minneapolis, MN "Ruthie Houchins" <sweeth2o@wans.net>

    3. CHRISTOPHERSEN / -SOM, Martin; USA; 1868- Mu great grandfather - born in Oslo, Norway August 5th 1868 - baptized Aug 16th same year - Martin Adolf was his full name. Christophersen may also have been written with K inst.of Ch and f/ff instead of ph - -sen or -son int the end. His sister Amme Marie Chr. born March 22nd 1865 also emigrated. She was alive in 1946. I am not sure - but -think- maybe the lived in Minneapolis or maybe Minnesota - it says only "Minn" in my notes. I do not know when they left Norway but it must have been in 1888 or later - because Martin became the father of my grandfather in December 1888 - but was not married to the mother. I have been told that he was not allowed to marry her and was "sent" to USA - he had contact with his son, who visited him once before he married and got children here in Norway. Martin or his sister got the daughter Mary Starbird. yours Bjørg Christophersen Aas in Oslo gaas@jancomulti.com
