GOODE Emma Minerva Vietta; Coventry,WAR,ENG; -1936 Emma Minerva Vietta GOODE Husband:Reginald Samuel DAKIN (1906-1981) Coventry, WAR Daughter: Sylvia DAKIN (1935- ) Coventry, WAR Seeking information on Emma and her family. Sylvia was adopted after the death of Emma and had no further contact with her father, or either family. I have found an Emma Goode listed as a Christening April 13, 1857 at Saint Michael, Coventry, Warwick, England (in the LDS database) but don't know if this is an ancestor of the above named Emma. The mother of E.Goode 1857 was also an Emma Goode so it may have been a "family" name. If anyone can help please mail me - I am married to the granddaughter of E.M.V.GOODE and we would like to trace back her family tree - the adoption has made things difficult. MINALL, William; WIL,ENG > HRT,ENG; 1800-1881 Dolphin SMITH (1805-1885) farmed in Ramsbury, Wiltshire, until about 1845, when he moved to Water End, Sandridge, Hertfordshire. His daughter later married Jacob REYNOLDS of Hammonds and Heath Farms, Sandridge and St Albans. He (or his close family) also owned a farm at Wanborough, Wiltshire, throughout the century. I have just discovered that members of the MINALL family worked for the SMITH and Reynolds families in Hertfordshire - and also had links with both Ramsbury and Wanborough. It would therefore seem that William MINALL senior (born circa 1802, living 1881) may have been a trusty farm worker who moved to Sandridge with Dolphin SMITH and/or managed the farm in Wanborough before coming to Sandridge. I would be very grateful for any information that could help me to find out more about William MINALL and his family in the 19th century. To avoid you telling me what I already know I have just posted the relevant information on the "Genealogy in Hertfordshire" Forum. -- Chris Reynolds CODIL Language Systems Ltd Local & Family History Research and Desk Top Publishing 33 Buckingham Road, Tring, Herts, UK, HP23 4HG Visit "Genealogy in Hertfordshire" at http://www.hertsweb.org.uk/genealogy "Chris Reynolds" <[email protected]>

CURLEW; monaghan,IRL; 1855 I have received copies of the REGISTERS of BIRTH for children of my GGGGrandparent Samuel & Sarah Thompson CURLEW. In the register it indicates their marriage as December 12, 1857 in what appears to be Castleblaney, Ireland and November 24, 1855 in what appears to be Aushnamullin, Ireland - this one is very difficult to read. Questions - Does anyone recognize these names or have better suggestions? Does this appear to be a church and civil wedding condition and was this a common practice? Any help appreciated.
