    3. PAGE,George; Northampton,ENG; b.c.1881 Hi I'm hoping someone out there has a connection with this family. George PAGE is my Great Grandfather he was born about 1881 in Northampton, and enlisted in the Army at Rushden, Northants. In 1911 he married Lucretia JACOBS at Portsmouth, Hampshire, England. On his marriage certificate his father is listed as William PAGE a Newsagent. I believe George had a Brother called William and also a sister although I do not know her name. My late Grandmother recalled my Grandfather saying he had visited an Aunt in Northampton and had been on a tour of a Boot or Shoe factory, she also recalled the family having a connection with the Shoe Industry (not uncommon in Northants I know!!) George PAGE was killed in action in April 1918 and has no known grave. He had reached the rank of Company Sergeant Major. There is a story in the family that George PAGE had been disowned by his family for marrying a Jew, but I don't know if this is true. If anybody can see a connection with their research please let me know. Thankyou for reading Sarah in Lincoln "Sarah" <[email protected]>

    3. BISHOP / BULLOCK / MCCARLEY / BOXTAL; AL,USA; 1790-1999 BISHOP/BULLOCK/McCARLEY/BOXTAL; AL,USA; 1790-1999 Have my great-grandfather's (Dillard G. Bishop) marriage license to Margrett L. McCarley on 6 Nov 1895....witnessed by J. T. Harris, T. R. H. Bishop and James M. Bishop; in Marion County, Alabama. Judge of probate...Jason P. Ford. Dillard and Margrett had at least one son, my grandfather William S. Bishop b.7 March 1901 d. 22 July 1973; he married Shelley Belle Bullock 14 Oct. 1921 in Marion County, AL. Questions....Who are T. R. H. Bishop and James M. Bishop?? Were they brothers and what relationship were they to Dillard?? On 2 Oct 1897 a James M. Bishop married Sarah Boxtal in Marion County, Alabama. Is this the same James M. Bishop, that witnessed the marriage of Dillard and Margrett?? I believe that James and Dillard were maybe grandfather and grandson. James was said to be a Civil War Vet and lived in Bibb Co. AL. He (or they) may have moved to Marion Co., AL before the war. It was also believed that they may have come to AL by way of SC or GA. I also think, my line runs Allen or John, James M., Charles F., Dillard G. , William S. and Vester O. Can anyone confirm or add anything more..(mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, brothers or sisters or dates and places)..for any of the above named individuals? Anything on any of the named Bishops could really break through this "genealogy wall" I'm up against. Thanks! "Default" <[email protected]>

Unfortunately the source I got these from could not tell me > where!! As it is such an unusual name, you should be able to locate their marriage at your nearest LDS Family History Centre (look in phone book for address) by looking through the GRO indexes on microfiche. Some of the larger libraries also have the indexes as, of course, does the FRC in London. I'm afraid the only way of finding out the details is then to order the certificate. See the ONS site for instructions on how you can do this. It's vitually impossible to conduct all your research on the Net and if you're anything like me you'll end up spending a small fortune on certificates - but they are invaluable in all the detail they contain. Good luck! Valerie Galbraith Tunbridge Wells, UK <[email protected]>
