PAGE,George; Northampton,ENG; b.c.1881 Hi I'm hoping someone out there has a connection with this family. George PAGE is my Great Grandfather he was born about 1881 in Northampton, and enlisted in the Army at Rushden, Northants. In 1911 he married Lucretia JACOBS at Portsmouth, Hampshire, England. On his marriage certificate his father is listed as William PAGE a Newsagent. I believe George had a Brother called William and also a sister although I do not know her name. My late Grandmother recalled my Grandfather saying he had visited an Aunt in Northampton and had been on a tour of a Boot or Shoe factory, she also recalled the family having a connection with the Shoe Industry (not uncommon in Northants I know!!) George PAGE was killed in action in April 1918 and has no known grave. He had reached the rank of Company Sergeant Major. There is a story in the family that George PAGE had been disowned by his family for marrying a Jew, but I don't know if this is true. They were born in New England and married in the Trinity Church in Newport, Rhode Island in Nov. 1748. They emigrated to Nova Scotia about 1762 settling in Liverpool, Queens County. Thomas died in 1787. Thomas owned property in Liverpool and his occupation was caulker. He is mentioned several times in Simeon Perkins Diary. They had seven children: Persis - married 1st.
