    3. I am not familiar with the Connecticut vital record research so I am posting this query. My mother-in-law's father was George Albert SCHNEIDER born in New Britain Connecticut on 11 May 1875. His parents were Frederick Traugott SCHNEIDER and Sophia Mary CLAJUS. According to the 1880 US census the family consister of: Frederick Traugott born about 1837 in Saxony Sophia (wife) born about 1844 in Saxony William (son) born about 1865 in Saxony Otto (son) born about 1868 in Saxony George Albert (son) born 11 May 1875 in Connecticut Helen (daughter) born March 1877 in Connecticut Richard (son) born April 1880 in Connecticut The census states that Frederick and his wife and sons William and Otto arrived in the US in 1869. I have checked the "Germans to America" volumes but do not find these people listed. Family tradition states that there twins born between Otto and George that died young (apparently before the 1880 US census). Frederick does not appear in the 1900 US census so he died sometime between 1880 and 1900. My problems are: How do I find Frederick's death records? How do I locate the immigration records? How do I prove/disprove the existance of the twins (tradition mentioned above)? This is just the start of my questions about this family. Any help with this family would be appreciated.
