    3. Hi, I have numerous books on American Indians. If you have the chance, read "Stolen Continents" by Ronald Wright and "A Spirited Resistance" by Gregory Evans Dowd. Quote from "Stolen Continents": <Sir William Johnson had first noticed the precocious ability of his Mohawk wife's little brother Joseph during the French and Indian war, when the boy aged thirteen, distinguished himself in battle. Johnson saw to his education, first at an anglican mission, then at the boarding school that later became Dartmouth college. Joseph Brant emerged with a thorough command of English, Latin and Greek, besides at least three of the Six Nations' languages.> Good luck, @}-}- -- Marie-Claude mcb.tokic@ns.sympatico.ca Mitakuye oyasin (We are all related) Membre du CGHHML (Limousin) > Subject: > Mohawk Chief Joseph BRANT 1742-1807 > Date: > Sun, 24 Jan 1999 21:54:16 -0500 > From: > Margaret Scheffler <figaro@dreamscape.com> > > I have learned that Mohawk Chief Joseph BRANT (1742-1807) was related > to a BARNHART/BARNHARDT.
