My direct lines include two of the most common Irish surnames ---SULLIVAN and GERRITY so you can imagine the difficulty I am having in researching these lines. It is especially difficult since the SULLIVAN line settled in PA-Old Forge, Minooka, Taylor and Scranton. The GERRITY line settled in PA-Scranton, Ledgesdale and Carbondale (with a little Wisconsin mixed in for good luck). Anyone familiar with northeast, PA (Carbondale, Minooka, Taylor, Old Forge, Ledgesdale, Scranton_ quickly recognize how popular the GERRITY and SULLIVAN surnames are. While I am accumulating quite a bit of information I need any and all assistance I can get to help me distinguish the various lines and branches of SULLIVAN and GERRITY.
