I am looking for the parents, siblings, and some of the children of ROBERT JAMES MARRS b. 1828 in Illinois (we think). He married HARRIET SMITHERS in LaClede Co., MO. They moved to the Eskridge/Harveyville area of KS. They had 4 girls and 4 boys: 1. JAMES W. b. 1856 (we have no information on him) 2. MARY JANE (HOUK) b. 1858 d. 1955 m. GEORGE HOUK had 9 children and lived mostly around the Joplin, MO area 3. DAVID MILTON (my grandfather) b.1860 d.1942 m. JEANETTE YOUNG; they moved from KS to Hoquiam, WA and had 8 boys and 3 girls. 4. ELLA B. (BERTHA) b. 1868 d. 1925 in Haswell, CO m.JAMES FRANKLIN MCCULLEY -- had 2 boys (one died in the 1st yr of his life_) 5. EMMA E. b. abt. 1864-66 (we have no information on her) 6. LORETTA M. b. abt. 1864-1866 (we have no information on her) 7. JOSEPH NELSON b. 1871 d. 1936 m. MYRTLE ALCORN moved from KS to AR. She died giving birth to twins who also died. He was left with 2 boys & 1 girl. ROBERT JAMES remarried at least twice after the death of Harriet Smithers. He married MARY COLLINS in 1879 and they had a dtr., MAY, in 1880. They divorced in 1885 and he married NANCY MOUNDS of Osage City, KS in 1886 -- they divorced in 1887. Family rumor as it that Harriet Smithers was Robert's 3rd wife so there may be a couple more that we don't know about (probably from IL,TN, or KS. It is also said that one of his dtrs. (Emma or Loretta) moved from KS to MT and the other moved to Los Angeles. It is also said that Robert moved to CA in his later years (perhaps to live with a dtr.?) and we have no date or place of death for him. We have been looking at the following names as possible ancestors and need info on them also: CHRISTOPHER MARRS b, 2-14-1766 to SAMUEL MARRS son of WILLIAM ERSKINE MARRS.
