They read: Birth Certificate Registry office Frankfurt on the Main (lll) number of 609 (Ludwig) Ernst (Simon) was born on 17 June of 1908 in Frankfurt at the Main Father: Engineer William (Eberhard Simon) Mother: (Helmi Justine Dorothea), born (Tuhte), both Catholic, both resident in Frankfurt at the Main. In answer to your writing of the 26.05.53 we can confirm through still existing records the following information: Mister Ludwig Simon, born on 17.06.1908 in Frankfurt at the Main worked as a mechanical engineering-apprentice at the IG Farbenindustrie in Bitterfeld from March of 1924 until September of 1926. Today as in the past, the students of the engineering school (Mittweida) were required to work during the semester vacations, in the above named business the practical work was also performed during the semester-vacations in the summers of 1927 and 1928. Last part of the paper reads: Transcription of the final examination-report card School of Technology at (Mittweida) By reason of the examination-order, enacted through the ordinance of October 1.1926 Mister Ludwig Simon, born 17. June of 1908 in Frankfurt at the Main has completed and passed the final examination for machine engineer for which this report card has been issued. the examination results for each subject are shown on the attached document. (Mittweida), the 15. March of 1929 The director: Council member Professor Holzt The examination-commission: The president Dr. Oster. There is one other paper that is a transcript of his engineering course. 1) Questions I have: Has anyone heard of the School of Technology at (Mittweida) 2) Has anyone heard of Farbenindustrie in Bitterfeld. Is Bitterfeld a town or city. 3) I would also like any information about my GGrandfather (Engineer-William (Eberhard Simon). 4) And, my GGrandmother (Helmi Justine Dorothea), born (Tuhte). I am not sure if Tuhte is her maiden name. I also don't know why some names are in brackets. My father and his family were Catholic so I am hoping there will be some church records in Frankfurt.
