Looking for info on the TRAXLER/TRUXLER (or variant spelling) families that were in Union Co., IL in 1850 and Clinton Co., IL in 1860. Probably in Alexander Co., IL as well. In 1850, Sophia TRAXLER is listed in Union County, IL, with her children Caleb, b. 1832 and Margaret, b. 1839, all in South Carolina. In the next household were John TRAXLER, probably another son, b. 1827 and his wife Mary Ann, b. 1830. John was b. in SC, Mary Ann in IL. In 1860, Sophia is listed in Clinton Co., IL, and her last name is spelled as TRUXLER. She is listed as being b. in NC. Also in her household is a William ALBEDANT (this surname could be wrong, and was transcribed from almost illegible handwriting). William is probably a grandson.
