Trying to find any information on the BAIER family. My g-father Robert BAIER was born in Loerrach, BADEN on 17 Oct 1866 and died I believe in 1924. He emigrated to New York City, NY, USA in 1897. According to LDS records that I found he had two brothers and two sisters, all born in Loerrach. Their names were: Wilhelm BAIER b. 09 JAN 1858 Friedrich BAIER b. 12 JAN 1861 Maria BAIER b. 18 DEC 1862 Johanna BAIER b. 16 APR 1871 I would like to know if they remained in Germany or if they also emigrated to the USA. Their father's name was Urban BAIER born in Niedereschbach,Waldshut,BADEN on 12 MAY 1824. Their mother's name was Maria Salome Wasmer born in Loerrach, BADEN on 24 OCT 1832. Her parents names were Josef Wasmer and Christine Binder. That's about all the information I have and most of it came from LDS IGI files. My father told me as a child that my g-father changed the surname spelling to Beyer when he came to the USA, but I still haven't found out just when it occured. Thanks in advance for any help.
