Searching for the birthplace of Albert STOCKEBRAND, married in York, Pa 1853 and died in Hampton Va. Vet Hospital 2-10-1903. I have been unable to locate when he and his future bride (Barbara BIEN) arrived in New York. Any ideas as to where to go from here would be appreciated. I have his Civil War records and they list him as being born in Prussia But 1850 census list him as being born in Westfalen. Is One a State and the other a city. I could only find them as Cities (or whatever they are called in Germany). Need help. Thank you very much in advance. PJShane299@aol.com
