Someone just sent his/her email, again acting against the best principles of the List, to over 800 subscribers. Instead of continuing to excuse and make allowances for those who do not follow the rules, why don't you give a little support to the Listowner? Yes, all of us were "newbies" at one time or another, BUT, most of us had the intelligence to read the danged Welcome Letter and follow the instructions !!!!! Continuing to aid and abet those who don't wish to conform does nothing but thwart the efforts of Listowners who are trying their best to keep their Lists working the best for the most. Isn't it about time that this society of ours stops this making excuses for others and DEMANDS that rules be followed? If no one is ever held accountable for his/her actions, how in Hades can we ever expect order and discipline? Or are those two words something that no one is willing to even speak of any more? It sure makes it easy for citizens to spout this ignorant lack of understanding of what makes society work, when they excuse others' failure to follow rules and customs. It only serves to show their own unwillingness to follow rules, laws, and customs. After all, if you can get everyone to make allowances for not abiding by rules, then you can feel free to break the rules yourself. Isn't that what it's all about? If we, as a nation, can come to accept the precept that following rules is archaic, passe, worn-out, not "socially" or "politically" correct, then doesn't that excuse ANY behavior by us????? Damnit (yes, I uttered a profanity, and if you don't like it, sue me!), follow the rules or get off line!!!!! And STOP this unnecessary chatter about how you don't see anything wrong with those who don't follow the rules.
