It seems to me that anyone that has an interest in someone finding their post and reading them would want to follow a general subject line. (Especially with digests) I get about 20 digests a day, and only read the headers for topics. A subject line that says "surnames" tells me nothing more than the list name. If you read your digests with Outlook Express you have to click on every post individually. Maybe some people would take the time to check each one, but I frankly don't have the time and really am not interested in every post. BTW I think this list is handled very well !!
