Hi Karen, IGI stands for International Genealogical Index and is put out by the LDS. It covers christenings, and marriages mainly. It also covers lots of diffrent countries. In each country it is usually divided into sections. For example, in England it is broken down into counties. It is important to remember that not all dates taken from the IGI, are accurate. Some I have found to be 10 years out, however it is a valuable resource and a great place to staart. Most libraries, and LDS places have the IGI Hope this helps Margot Alice Springs, Australia At 08:56 AM 9/8/98 -0500, you wrote: >Hello everyone, >I am new at this and have a question...What is IGI? >Thanks for the info. >Karen >[email protected] > > > >==== SURNAME-QUERY Mailing List ==== >Reminder!
