I am researching my husbands lines,with none of them left, I am finding it hard to get any information.I hope someone out there can help me.Isaiah BARNES,SR. b.1820-25,married Oct.16,1851 Nancy McMURTY in Benton County,TN. Their son,Isaiah BARNES,JR.married Dec.30,1969 Nancy Jane BENTON in Benton County,TN. Their daughter Nancy Jilletta BARNES b.Jan.27,1872 TN,d.Sept. 1968 in Memphis,TN. married abt.1900 to Lee ALLEN of TN. Nancy and Lee had three sons, [1]Elbert LaFette,b.1901[2]Onie ALLEN b. 1906 [3] Infant ALLEN b. 1903 died at about two years of age.Lee drowned while trying to save the boy who fell into a river,the child also drowned. Nancy Jilleta was pregnant with Onie when her husband and son drowned. [1]Elbert ALLEN married Ella Jane WIGGINGTON,had one daughter and seven sons. My husband Charles Edward ALLEN was their second son. I am trying to locate any information about his ancestors.[2]Onie ALLEN was supposed to have spent 20 years in prison for killing man.Any idea how I could r esearch his prison record? Does anyone have anything on the parents of Isaiah BARNES,SR., Nancy McMURTY, Nancy Jane BENTON, Lee ALLEN or his father LaFette ALLEN of TN? I know this is very little to go on but it is all I have.
