I am looking for ANY information on the WILKEY family. They allegedly came into the country through North Carolina possibly in the 1600s. They moved across the hilly areas and settled mostly in Kentucky. I have fairly good records indicating my lineage goes back to a John W. WILKEY who was born in Hawkins Co, TN in 1811. I believe he married Nancy PULLEN in 1831 or 1837 in Hancock Co, KY. She was born in Hancock Co, KY around 1816. I have some records from that point on, although they aren't confirmed. I think he had three siblings; Barney, Davis, and William. I think their parents were James W. WILKEY born in IN or KY abt 1784 and Barbary GOOD. I think James had four siblings; George, Charles, Vincent, and Israel. I think their parents were George S. WILKEY born in NC abt 1756 and his unknown wife. I think George was the son of Joseph WILKEY born in NC abt 1721 and died abt 1764, and his unknown wife. Thank you for reading my query and I hope someone will have information to assist me.
