I am trying to compile the lineage on this ancient line and would appreciate any information, especially on the early Godbold families of England---Kent, Essex, Suffolk Counties in England. I am desperately looking for any documentation on our emigrant, John Godbold b. 1664 Suffolk Co. came to then Craven Co. now Marion Co., S.C. 1735. I especially want information on his early days as a sailor with the British West Indian service when he lived in England.
