Looking for information on William Erwin (Irwin?) Hampton, son of William P and Malinda Hampton. William was one of seven children and seems to have disappeared with out a trace. There is a marriage record for McLean Co. Illinois for a William E Hampton and a Melvina Hykens on 4/17/1855. Five of William's brothers and sisters were married in McLean Co between 1831 and 1855. All of his sisters stayed in Illinois as far as we know, but his two brothers John and James went to Dade County Missouri with their parents William and Malinda. Can anyone confirm that the William E Hampton who married Melvina Hykens is the one I am looking for ? Does anyone have any information at all about William Erwin and where he went ?
