    1. William P Hampton Tn>IL>Mo 1789-1855
    2. Looking for information on William P Hampton and family. William was born Aug 8 1789 in a part of North Carolina than became Tennessee a few years after he was born. William married Malinda (maiden name unknown) born about 1792 in Virginia. William and Malinda had seven children, John H., James P. William Irwin, Mary Adeline, Lemira, Mathilda, and Elizabeth. William and his family left Tennessee sometime around 1825 and went to McLean Co Illinois. They left Illinois about 1835 and settled in Dade Co Missouri. William died in Dade Co in 1855. I have found a William Hampton listed as being a member of Pipkin's West Tennessee Milita . A McLean County history book lists William as being of " the Wade Hampton connection". Is there anyone who knows where in Tennessee William could have come from and which family related to Wade Hampton he could be part of ? Also would like to find out what became of his son William Irwin. I can find marriage records for all of the children except William Irwin. Does anyone know what became of him ? Will share all information that I have. Thank you in advance for any help that you can give Jaime JLeeV196@aol.com

    1. George SOULE family
    2. Margaret Scheffler
    3. There is a series on the Mayflower Families through five generations put out by the General Society of Mayflower Descendants. You may find the SOULE volume (vol. 3) in a large public library. The Mayflower Society no longer sells that particular volume because there are problems with inaccuracies in some of the descendant lines. If you use it, you will want to read the reviews that point out the problems, but it does have information you may be interested in. One review is in the American Genealogist v.57 (1981), pp. 57-59. The longer review is in The Genealogist v.1, pp.225-58. Do look at Anderson's 3 volume set, The Great Migration Begins published by the NEHGS. There are several pages of discussion of George Soule and family in v.3, pp. 1704-1708. Margaret Scheffler
