Hello. I am still looking for information re: my gr-gr-gr grandparents; Felix and Sarah Jane (McQUOID) KEENAN;b. 1814/1819;Co. Down; IRL. Their son, John KEENAN; b. 1835 was baptized in Kircubbin; Co. Down, IRL that same year. Felix took the family to the Cumberland area of ENG between 1845-1849. My gr- grandparents; John James and Mary (BERRY) KEENAN;b. 1865;Dearham, ENG later migrated to the Williamsport, PA, USA and after a return trip to Maryport, ENG returned to settle in the Rochester, NY area. Any info on either KEENAN or McQUOID families would be greatly appreciated. You might consider that the German "double s" is written as below in German: ss = SS = ß Sometimes researchers are confused by the and think it is an "f". You might look for URSS or URS, also ORSS or ORS. I don't know what to make of the UFROSEUEI. Are these immigrants Germans from Germany, or might it be that they are "Russian Germans" or "Volga Germans"? Regards, SgtGeorge George W. Durman Knoxville, TN
