James Martin PUGH was born December 24, 1865 in Indiana (county unknown). He lived as a child or teenager at some time in Kansas. His father was at one time a town marshall in Hutchison, Kansas. He lived in Carmen, Ok., Alfalfa Co in 1903. He lived in Garfield Co, OK. in 1920. He married Mary Elizabeth BIRD. He had one son, Elwood Leeland Pugh, born 4-27-1903 in Carmen, OK. He had one step-son, Tom BOWER, and one step-daughter, May BOWER from his wife Mary's previous marriage. He was a carpenter and builder by trade. He built many public buildings in Enid as well as homes. James Martin PUGH died abt July 24, 1930 in Enid,Ok. and was buried July 27, 1930 in Enid OK.
