I remember my Dad talking about two brothers who came to North America from Ireland, County Armagh......I believe that was Jonathan and a brother ....and he had a copy of a letter one wrote to the other. One was in Canada, the other in New England.......the letter, along with a lot of documentation and old photographs were lost in a fire about 15 years ago. I would be happy to correspond with any connections. Sincerely!! Donna (Francis) Thurman
Searching for information on the ancestry of Thomas JOYCE whose name appeared in Virignia land records in 1748. His brother Alexander Joyce also purchased land in VA, but later moved to NC. Thanks, Barbara
I just received a copy of the AL Historical Commission Report and it has a great picture of "Daniel Garber, 1862, Co. E, 102nd Ohio Volunteer Infantry, imprisioned at Cahawba 1864-65" and some information. If anyone wants it, just let me know. Diane

I don't know if Finger is an unusual name or not, but I know a Mark Finger who lives in Alameda, California. I have no idea if he's into genealogy, but I could drop him a note if you'd like. Barb and Surname list receivers, I apologize for sending this thru the surname list. I have been getting e mail from a relative and it comes in with only a name which is not an e mail name and another person who knows nothing of the family above. So Barb (of Stockebrand - Heidler - Shane fame) please send me a corrected e mail address. I am not sure what the mixup is but I do apologize to everyone for this message to those not interested. I am searching for the birth date for William Leon "Bill" THORNTON who died in 1894 in Limestone County, TX. He left his widow, Ella Isabella BEARD and four young children. Ella BEARD THORNTON moved back to Broaddus, San Augustine County, TX to be near family. Eldridge
I am searching for the parents of Zade W.PRICE born in 1823 (possibly in VA) and married Permelia Katherine DOYLE. They raised a family of seven children in Bedford or Marshall Counties of TN. Is soneone working on the PRICE family?
I am trying to unravel a mystery and wondered if anyone had any information that might shed a little light on this puzzle: Does anyone have a Susan BRUNSON in their family tree? She is listed in the 1850 Marshall Co., AL (New Hope pct) census as Susan A. BRUNSON and her mother is poss. Martha BENSON (b. 1819, TN) (there are several unclear spellings that alternate between BENSON and BRUNSON in this census record.) Susan was born in approx. 1838 in Marshall Co. and a sister, Mary A. (listed in census) was born approx. 1839 in AL. Before 1860, Susan married an unknown man named MORRIS who had apparently died before the 1860 census. By him she had at least 2 children who were listed in the census: Malinda and Enoch. Listed with the family in both 1850 and 1860 are Frederick (b. 1795, SC) and Mary JONES (b. 1790, TN). There is also a John JONES (b. 1828, TN) (Martha's brother?) I haven't seen the 1840 census and so don't know what clues this may hold. Susan BRUNSON Morris eventually moved to Morrow Co., OH and became the (2nd) wife of Elisha GLEASON in 1872. They had two daughters, Hattie (b. 1874) and Katie (Kitty) (b. 1879). Susan died 14 May 1900 in Crawford Co., OH and is buried at the Sixteen Methodist Episcopal Cemetery, Whetstone Twp., Crawford Co., OH. Regarding Susan and her family, I am looking for: 1 marriage date and full name of Susan's husband ? MORRIS 2 proof that Martha BENSON is Susan BRUNSON's mother. What was her father's name? Reason for spelling difference? 3 relationship between JONES/BENSON/BRUNSON. Were the JONESes Martha's parents? 4 In Aug 1861, Susan had a daughter, Mexico Morris. If she was the daughter of Susan's husband Morris, he would have had to have been alive during the taking of the 1860 census. Is she an illeg. dau. or was Susan perhaps just living separately from Mr. Morris during this time? Any info that might help clear up this mystery would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Cassie clnholly@aol.com AL surnames: PATE/JONES/GARNER/TUBB/SANDERS/GOODMAN/BUNSON/BRUNSON/BENSON/BEAVERT
