    3. You are right, Florence. old is relative. if it plays games...a kid will like it. if it finds websites...the cancer ward will like it. if you have anyway to find out if this isp is willing to give away laptops for this cause...would you let me know? as a group, the hosp. could pay to have them refurbished. it would be a great reason for a fundraiser...to get the laptops fixed. mike -----Original Message----- From: Florence Marmor <fmarmor@dorsai.org> To: Mike <sparrow@berkshire.net> Cc: MEDIEVAL <GEN-MEDIEVAL-L@rootsweb.com>; BIOG.GROUP <USBIOG-L@rootsweb.com>; **HOMESPUN <HOMESPUN-L@rootsweb.com>; NORCAL <NORCAL-L@rootsweb.com>; Sharon Ledgerwood <sledgerwood@fox-net.net>; SURNAME-QUERY-L <SURNAME-QUERY-L@rootsweb.com>; SURNAME-misc <SURNAMES-MISC-M@rootsweb.com>; SOCAL-L <SOCAL-L@rootsweb.com>; SHIPS LIST <TheShipsList-L@rootsweb.com>; CHRISTY <schnr47@softcom.net>; Doc Cottle <DOCOTTLE@UKCC.uky.edu>; Nick Santangelo <scnr@earthlink.net>; OBITS <GEN-OBIT@rootsweb.com>; RESEARCH- how-to <RESEARCH-HOWTO-L@rootsweb.com>; ROLL-CALL <ROLL-CALL-L@rootsweb.com>; SHIRLEY <kworth@gte.net>; ROOTS-L <ROOTS-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Friday, March 13, 1998 2:47 PM Subject: Re: Laptops? >On Fri, 13 Mar 1998, Mike wrote: > >> that is a good question. i am going into the hosp. for a while and was >> wondering the same. 3. I am interested in any information on a John Snyder who married a Rosanna Morse and lived in Lime City, Ohio. They had eight children: Lillian, Vallie, Nile, Amanda, Verna, Mildred, Elsie, Perry and Tony. They moved from Lime City to Miami St. in Toledo, Oh. Rosanna (Rosa) died in 1926 and John in 1942. I would calculate their births to be around 1868.

    3. The Header Protocol is a little tight technically. It could be loosened just a tad. Having the name in front makes sense and general identification of the countries and dates is helpful (whenever the person has them). It's the > ; : and Caps stuff that could be more flexible and, therefore, user friendly....without harming the integrity of the group or internet protocol. And please, no flames. I make these observations in a constructive manner. There may be information which we all need not making its way onto the list because of posts bouncing back to the originator. No big deal, just a helpful (hopefully) contribution to the discussion. Jim

    1. CARR, Francis, MA,VT,NH,NY
    2. ShMaynard
    3. I have Francis CARR, born app. 1806, possibly to Joseph R. CARR (Lowell, Middlesex Co., MA 1830 census--the only Carr there at that time). Francis married Phela Delpha HEATH, born 16 Dec., 1803 to David Heath, Corinth Twp., Orange Co. VT. The marriage took place in Lowell, Middlesex Co., MA 10 Dec., 1829. They had 7 children, but I have the names of only 6. It is assumed the unknown was born first, since it was 2 years before the second was born. All 7 were living when we finally located the family on the 1855 Oswego Co., NY state census, but the first was not with them. Of course, it's also possible she/he was born between second and third. Unknown, born possibly in MA, ca 1830. Helen E. Carr, born abt 1831 in Haverhill, Grafton, New Hampshire. Mary Jane Carr, born 1835 in Haverhill. Married in NY, Thomas E. HESTER. Hubbard D. Carr, born 7 Feb., 1837 in Haverhill. Married in NY, Harriet A. LIDDLE. Nancy Louise Carr, born 1841 in Ostego Co., NY. Married Thomas Wesley FRANCISCO. Frank H. Carr, born 1842, perhaps Oswego Co., NYmarried Corra ? in NY. Lydia A. Carr, born 1845, perhaps Oswego Co., NY, married an unknown ROY. I have much more information, but would very much like verification that Joseph is the father of Francis, find out who the first born child is, and find the name of the youngest child's husband. I would also like a lookup in the 1850 VT, Orange Co., Washington federal census, page 335, to see if this is my Francis Carr. Shirley ShMaynard@aol.com
