    2. Ron
    3. Hi Folks, For those of you that are having trouble, I heartily recommend that you get the welcome file that is sent out when you first subscribe. I am once again getting an abundance of improperly addressed posts to the list, and people that are having trouble getting unsubscribed. To get the welcome file, send an e-mail message to: surname-query-L-request@rootsweb.com and in the body put only this text: get file welcome.txt Hope this helps! 3. I found a website that had my Hanson's in it today. I found FOUR more generations. http://dan-co.llano.net/rex/index.html ---------- From: Carolyn <ldystang@airmail.net> To: SURNAME-QUERY-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Henson/Hanson/Hinson/Hynson Date: Sunday, March 15, 1998 7:17 PM Ethel Nerim Miner, <eminer@azstarnet.com>, maintains the database for the HHHH Research Assoc. and also has written several books on these surnames. I would suggest you email her and find out if she has your Al Hanson in her database. Seeking ancestors/descendants of Lazarous Henson and Martha Holder, Carroll Co Ga to Wood Co, Tx in 1800's. They are looking for certain SURNAMES, on which they are doing research, or are willing to help others with research of said SURNAMES. Therefore, if you do not provide meaningful Subject: lines, chances are good that your posts will be deleted without having been read. Also, the accepted standard in conducting genealogy research via the Internet/Web is to spell all SURNAMES in CAPS.

    2. MORETA000
    3. I realize that this is off topic but after the last week I thought we could all use a little laugh. I found this on a website and thought I would post it for all to enjoy. Genealogy Pox by Sheila Richards, Shropshire Family History Society SYMPTOMS: •Continual complaint as to the need for names, dates, kinship and places. •Patient has blank expressions, sometimes deaf to spouses and children. •Has no taste for work of any kind except feverishly looking through records at Libraries and Archives. •Has a compulsion to write letters, swears at the postman when he doesn't deliver any mail. •Frequents strange places such as cemeteries, ruins, remote country areas. •Makes night calls, hides the phone bill from spouse, mumbles to oneself, often a strange far away look in the eye. NO KNOWN CURE TREATMENT: Medication is useless. Disease is not fatal, but gets progressively worse, needs a quiet corner in the house where he/she can be alone. REMARKS: The unusual nature of the disease - is the sicker the patient gets the more they enjoy it. Judi Cook MORETA@aol.com Researching, SCOWN, LENTZ, LEIMESTER, HINCHMAN, SCHULER

Netscape and MSIE and AOL do support Java. If you are using one of these browsers, you need to go into the configuration/options and check the "Java Enabled" option. SgtGeorge

    3. In reference to my previous post on the ProGentitor program, I feel I must forward this post from Florence Moore, concerning a program that will read the databases on the web and convert them to GEDCOM. If this program really works (I haven't logged on yet to try it), it is a fantastic program indeed. 1. Baier surname
    2. Robert Beyer
    3. Trying to find any information on the BAIER family. My g-father Robert BAIER was born in Loerrach, BADEN on 17 Oct 1866 and died I believe in 1924. He emigrated to New York City, NY, USA in 1897. According to LDS records that I found he had two brothers and two sisters, all born in Loerrach. Their names were: Wilhelm BAIER b. 09 JAN 1858 Friedrich BAIER b. 12 JAN 1861 Maria BAIER b. 18 DEC 1862 Johanna BAIER b. 16 APR 1871 I would like to know if they remained in Germany or if they also emigrated to the USA. Their father's name was Urban BAIER born in Niedereschbach,Waldshut,BADEN on 12 MAY 1824. Their mother's name was Maria Salome Wasmer born in Loerrach, BADEN on 24 OCT 1832. Her parents names were Josef Wasmer and Christine Binder. That's about all the information I have and most of it came from LDS IGI files. My father told me as a child that my g-father changed the surname spelling to Beyer when he came to the USA, but I still haven't found out just when it occured. Thanks in advance for any help.
