    1. Re: STANLEY Lawrence Co., KY
    2. Cw mom 4
    3. HI, I dont have much at all. mainly what I wrote on the email. Josephine Mosley was my great grandmother and she married Cecil Kitchen. I think it was in 1901. I know her sister Gassa (or Gusler I have seen it spelled both ways) was born on 19 June 1878. I have seen Diadama's name listed as Didannie and Diadane. My grandma Dovie Kitchen Caldwell said her name was Alice Didane! So who really knows. All these different spellings make this stuff much harder to check out. I was given a print out of a census record from a friend. Unfortunately the headings were gone and I am not sure what this means but for Diadama is lists VA and VA at the right. I am assuming from OH records that I have that they may notate where her parents were born, so the Stanleys you are aware of who came from VA to KY may indeed be some type of relations. IF this helps any, let me know. But this is really the bottom of the barrel of what I have. Thanks a bunch, Vicky Caldwell Burns

    1. CROWDER VA>OH
    2. Cw mom 4
    3. I am looking for anyone who has information on this family. Agnes Crowder m. Daniel Spain in 1812. They had a daughter named Milly . Sarah Spain m. William Crowder 22 Oct 1824 William Crowder later married Elizabeth O'Haver Spain in 1841. It is my understanding that these Crowders and Spains came together from Dinwiddie VA and settled in Champaign Co. OH. The names of the first to come were J.P. Spain, Stephen Spain, William Spain, Daniel Spain, Thomas Spain, Hezekiah Spain, Hubbard Crowder and John Crowder. I am having a heck of a time untangling these 2 lines as they seemed to intermarry and so many have the same first names. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please email me at Cwmom4@aol.com if you think you can help.

    1. LEWIS/WOODBRIDGE Ohio area
    2. Cw mom 4
    3. I have a real puzzle on my hands. My gg grandmothers name was Anna Lewis. She was born on 3 Jan 1862 on a ship coming from Ireland to the USA. Her parents' names on her death certificate are listed as Samuel and Elizabeth Lewis of Scotland. The story goes that when her parents arrived in New York, her father went into the Civil War and was killed. Her mother, unable to care for her during a scarlet fever epidemic in NY, placed her in a orphanage. No one knows if her mother died, but Anna became the "daughter" of Mr and Mrs Thomas Woodbridge of Mount Vernon, OH. (No records of adoption have been discovered). After that Anna became known as Anna Lewis Woodbridge. I found it written on some papers of my g grandmas that the Woodbriges owned a grain business in Gambier, OH. No other information on the Woodbridges is available. Anna had impaired eye sight, she was fond of saying "I am blind in one eye and can't see out of the other." The Woodbridges sent her to the Columbus School for the Blind. There is a notation that a Mr. Charles Cooper was her guardian for awhile. She completed her schooling and found a job in Columbus, OH. There she met and married Charley P. Bloomquist a Swedish Immigrant. They moved to Marion OH and raised 2 daughters. Anna died in 1937. If anyone has any information on the Woodbridges or any ideas on how I can try to locate more information on them, please email me at Cwmom4@aol.com Thanks

    3. I am looking for anyone with connections or information about this family. Here is what I know. Henry Ruhlen b. 19 Jan 1839 in Germany (parents names are listed on his death certificate as John George Ruhlen and Justina Sattler) Henry came to the US abt. 1862. I have no details on this as of yet. He m. Caroline Strohmeier. ( where and when I do not know but it was after he came to US) Henry and Caroline had the following children: Anna Mary b. 22 Nov 1867 d. 17 May 1868 Emma Dorthea b. 17 Apr 1869 d May 1960 m. Charles Logan Tallman Elnora b. 5 Aug. 1871 d 18 May 1935 George Edward b. 1 Nov 1873 d. 6 Dec 1937 m Mertie Clara b. 22 Feb 1876 d 26 June 1955 m. Frank Dodge Mina b. 28 Apr 1879 d. 7 Dec 1959 m Joseph G. Cochran Flora b. 9 Jan 1881 d 12 Feb 1919 Carl Herbert b 13 Jan 1888 d 5 July 1888 Herman b. 1 Mar 1892 m. Gay I did find a death certificate for a William Ruhlen that lived in Kenton, OH and it lists his parents as the same names that are on Henrys death certificate. So they seem to have been brothers. No one left in my family knew of any siblings. Also on the OH 1880 census there is a Dorthea Ruhlen listed as living with Henry and Caroline and she is list as his widowed mother. (Is this Justina??) I find no record of her death. If you have any information you can share with me to help me find more on these ancestors of mine, please email me at Cwmom4@aol.com Thank you so much.

    1. WEHRLE, Frances Xavier, Germany>OH
    2. Cw mom 4
    3. I am looking for anyone who may have information on this family. It has been a major brick wall for me!! Frances Xavier Wehrle died in Columbus, OH. Although I can find no record of that yet. His granddaughter is still living and assures me that he did. This would have been in the late 1800's. I know very little about his early life, He was born in Baden Germany, at some point he immigrated to the US. I don't know if he came with his family, but I can find many Wehrle's listed in OH records, just can't seem to find any linked to mine. He was married to Margerita Boernstorf. This was supposedly his second marriages. I am told that both marriages produced a total of 23 children. (Amazing if he was so prolific that I can find no one who seems to be attached to him, except...) I know of one son: Michael James Wehrle born in Columbus, OH on Dec. 15, 1877. Michael married Margurite Hickey on June 4, 1902 in Columbus, OH. Michael died on July 23, 1968. Michael and Margurite had 5 children: Florence Marie, Margaret Angela, Lawrence Frances, Evangeline Regina, and Catharine Elizabeth. Florence and Margaret are deceased but the others still live. Apparently Frances X. died before any of these remaining grandchildren were born, therefore they have little knowledge of him. If anyone out there can offer any pieces to the puzzle, I would be most greatful. Email me at Cwmom4@aol.com Thanks.
