I've gotten numerous, appreciated emails directing me towards the rootsweb.com and the users.aol.com/johnf1249... However, I should have made myself clearer. I've already tried these places. Just wondering if anyone knows of any of the said lists that would be hosted at different places. Thanks, Amy Harris Brown sab@tallassee.net http://www.tallassee.net/~sab FAMILY HISTORY SURNAMES: Brown, Harris, Price, Wigley, White, Hanson, Rowell, Trammell, Morrow, Higgins, Armstrong, Sanders, Oliver, Blakely, Lisles
Joseph Lawrence FOSTER was born in 1825 in Rensselaer Co., NY. It is believed that he married Mary Agnes KIRK 3 Nov 1846 in Troy, Rensselaer, NY. They were the parents of three children: Mary, Frederick S., and Carrie. All three children and the mother died in Wayne Co., NY. Frederick died in a boating accident and the mother and at least Carrie died in a typhoid epidemic. Joseph was a shoemaker on the 1850 through 1870 censuses. He removed to Geauga Co., OH, after the death of his first family. He married Marcia Ann DARLING 1 May 1870 in Chardon, Geauga, OH. He died in the same place 8 Dec 1894. They had two daughters, Ruth Lucia and Frances Murphy. Toni Turk P.O. Box 667 Blanding, UT 84511 turkt@do.sanjuan.k12.ut.us
I am a Wigley descendant. Anyone want to talk about the extensive work on the Wigley name? Anyone need info? I enjoy helping others. It's no problem for me. Are there mailing lists for Meriwether County, GA, the surname Wigley, the surname Rowell, or the surname Higgins? Amy Harris Brown sab@tallassee.net http://www.tallassee.net/~sab FAMILY HISTORY SURNAMES: Brown, Harris, Price, Wigley, White, Hanson, Rowell, Trammell, Morrow, Higgins, Armstrong, Sanders, Oliver, Blakely, Lisles
I now have a more complete query. I'm not sure where he was born, but he was living with wife Emma Lowe (March 1868-?), mother Rachel(March 1823-?), sisters Savannah and Alice, and children Homer, Walter, and Lucy in Macon County, AL, in 1900. Sometime we believe that they moved to Manchester, GA. My g-grandfather, Jesse Herbert, was born in 1902. There was also another daughter named Nadine (Nanny) who never married. Jesse's son, Claude Edmond, was born in Manchester, and my dad remembers that Homer always lived in Manchester, so that's why we believe that they moved there. Then, Jesse Herbert and his family (wife Mary Emma Rowell, and children Claude Edmond, Bobby Herbert, Ruth, and Mildred) moved to Macon County, AL. Does anyone have any info? Does anyone recognize these names? Amy Harris Brown sab@tallassee.net http://www.tallassee.net/~sab FAMILY HISTORY SURNAMES: Brown, Harris, Price, Wigley, White, Hanson, Rowell, Trammell, Morrow, Higgins, Armstrong, Sanders, Oliver, Blakely, Lisles
No, the Trammell name is from Macon County, AL. I have ordered a book on the Trammell family, but it hasn't come in yet. The woman that I ordered it from is named Priscilla Heinsburg. She lives in LA. I've lost the mailing address and phone number. I'll try to obtain it if you are interested. I ordered this book 2 weeks ago. Makes me a little angry. ---------- From: PJShane299 <PJShane299@aol.com> To: SURNAME-QUERY-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: What counties does Atlanta, GA cover? Amy, I sent your e mail and then noticed you have a Trammell surname on your list. Are they from the Atlanta area? Phyllis
Amy, Atlanta is mostly in Fulton County and the Southeastern ( sort of) is in DeKalb County. On the outskirts south is Clayton, east is Rockdale and North is Gwinnett (where I live) and West will probably be Cobb County. I am close to the Buford County Library and could find anything you wanted to know about Atlanta. If you were the one asking about cemeteries, the oldest in Atlanta is the Oakland Cemetery where Margaret Mitchell is buried. Also other famous people but she is the only one who comes to mind at the moment. I hope this helps. Phyllis in Ga. PJShane299@aol.com

My GGGrandfather emmigrated from the area of Minden in 1854? (this is questionable) Where would one search for records in this area? I am sure he had to apply to emmigrate? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!! He would of been about 21 years of age, does this mean he left to avoid the military? or, would he of already served? He emmigrated/immigrated by himself, with no know family on the same ship. I have been unsuccessful in finding any church records,(and I have tried) many people have sent various info pertaining to the surname in the area (and I thank them!!!) but none have connected. Are there birth records? There are no known census records for the area, what about a Directory? Searching: Karl Ludwig Tegeler, born Feb 16, 1833 in Minden , Germany. Thank You in Advance Christi
I am trying to connect three BUTLER girls who married three KEARBY boys in Jessamine Co. Kentucky in the early 1800's. If any one can help on these two families it would be appreciated. Hi, My name is Barb and I am no computer wiz either, in fact I don't use a computer, I have a little black box that hooks to my TV and it is just great. When they mean the signature box, usually in the setup file it asks if you want to sign your letters and then it gives you a box to type how you want to end your letters. It's not hard, just look for setup or use the help or index. Bye, Barb
