    3. It seems unlikely the name 'Kiernan' is related to the other two since the meanings of Cornell and Kiernan are totally different. Cornell (English) Descendant of Cornelius (hornlike); dweller at the dogwood tree hill. (Just because a name is listed as English does not rule it out for someone from Ireland, as you know.)
