    3. Upon hearing from Gary Radcliffe, something he said rang a bell and I checked HEIMAN. One of the meanings of that is "descendant of HYAM", which IS a Jewish name. A variation of that name, as Gary pointed out, is HYMAN. Could your ancestor's name have mutated over the years from HYMAN to HEYMAN?
