Hello List, Does anyone have the origin/meaning of the name SZAJA (alt. spelling Schaja, Szajah, Szoja) ? Thank you very much, Ingolf Vogel
Don't know if the two are related but the closest I could come to SZAJA was SZAJN which is the Polish spelling of the Yiddish word 'sheyn'. The name is a variation of Schon (German) which is a nickname for a handsome or pleasant man.
